My “Best” Photos of 2008

Interesting suggestion from the lovely Kay tonight: put together a set of my best Flickr photos from 2008, one for each month. I was about to go to bed, but this seemed such a cool idea I had to do it at once.

It’s an interesting exercise, because of course all my pictures on Flickr are awesome .. heh! But seriously folks, excluding the “duty” photos taken at parties and other events, I generally only upload pictures I’m at least moderately pleased with, if not absolutely proud, so choosing just one from each month was not so easy. The resulting set of 12 is not necessarily the absolute only set of 12 possible — there were quite a few others I could as easily have included in their place (although April was rather a lean month). So what I have here are 12 representative photos of my “work”.

You can enjoy them as a slide show on Flickr

Crisis? What crisis?

So … let me see if I understand this. We have a global financial crisis, basically caused by unrestrained borrowing. In order to fix this, Kevin wants us to spend up big to “stimulate” the economy, for which he’s provided a $10billion dildo .. er, stimulus package .. to pensioners, families and .. actually, no, not the unemployed; they don’t qualify, for some reason. The result of this is that the shops have now sold out of Wii Fit, Guitar Hero and other games of overseas manufacture. I’m sure the Japanese economy will thank you, Kevin. Meanwhile, unemployment is looking increasingly bad. But I guess all the newly-unemployed will be able to fill their day playing Guitar Hero, so you see, it all works out in the end. Have a nice day!
